    Las primeras décadas del siglo XXI en Latinoamérica evidenciaron el crecimiento de equipos que trabajan en contacto directo con co-munidades y plantean revisiones en el rol del arquitecto, que han tendido a desdibujar la figura del autor y privilegiar los procesos por sobre la obra terminada. En ese sentido, el artículo caracteriza los colectivos de arquitectura latinoamericanos para determinar sus roles e incumbencias profesionales. Se propuso, además, armar un estado de la cuestión que posibilite enmarcarlos dentro de un nuevo perfil profesional. Esto se plantea como un puntapié inicial para comprender lo que entendemos como un quiebre en la producción, gestión y enseñanza de la arquitectura reciente en Latinoamérica

    In Latin America the first decades of the 21st century have wit-nessed the emergence of teams that work in direct contact with communities, suggesting in the process new approaches to the tra-ditional role of the architect that have tended to blur the figure of the author and privilege processes over the finished work. Against this background, the article characterizes Latin American architec-tural collectives with the aim of determining their professional roles and responsibilities. It has the further aim of establishing the cur-rent state of the art in order to set them within the context of a new professional profile. This exercise is intended to establish a starting point for understanding what we believe to be a rupture in the re-cent production, management and teaching of architecture in Latin America.
