Para el investigador hacer que la producción científica sea visible y accesible aumenta las posibilidades de ser percibida y utilizada. Sobre las diferentes acciones que pudieran asumirse es crucial considerar la publicación de la investigación en Acceso Abierto a fin de que esté disponible gratuitamente y permita su distribución más amplia lo que resultaría en una mayor visibilidad y citas además de establecerse estrategias de vinculación o nexo en recursos o plataformas digitales como redes sociales, perfiles en línea o blogs. Por ello la operatividad en la promoción de la investigación se convierte imprescindible como parte del trabajo de los investigadores y académicos, esfuerzo que traería resultados de notoriedad del trabajo académico al medirse el factor impacto.
