  La diabetes es una enfermedad metabólica de causas múltiples caracterizada por la hiperglucemia crónica que altera el metabolismo de hidrato de carbono, proteínas y grasas, lo que da como resultado defectos en la secreción de la insulina o de su acción o de ambas a la vez en el cuerpo humano. El manejo de enfermería en pacientes con pie diabético es la aplicación de conocimientos, técnicas y cuidados para prevenir infecciones heridas, gangrenas y amputación de los dedos del pie de paciente que sufren de la enfer- medad. La presente investigación se realizó con el objetivo de determinar cuáles son los conocimientos y manejo del personal de enfermería en pacientes con pie diabético en el Hospital Distrital de Lambaré, Paraguay, 2018. La investigación de tipo observacional, descriptiva de corte transversal. La muestra de estudio fue el Personal de Enfermería, desarrolla sus tareas en el Servicio de Clínica Médica del Hospital Distrital de Lambaré. La muestra fue de 19 profesionales de Enfermería que se ocupan de manejar usuarios con pie diabético. Resultados: se visualizó que la mayoría del personal es de sexo femenino, en mayor porcentaje se encuentra en la franja etaria de 31 a 40 años. En cuanto a la formación académica todos los encuestados tienen estudios universitarios Licenciaturas y los que tienen más antigüedad se encuentran entre 11 a 20 años. En un porcentaje del 78% del personal de enfermería conocen y manejan correctamente el pie diabético.

The present investigation was carried out with the objective of determining what is the knowledge and management of the nursing staff in patients with diabetic foot in the District Hospital of Lambaré, Paraguay, 2018. The investigation of observational type, descriptive of cross section. The study sample was the Nursing Staff, it carries out its tasks in the Medical Clinic Service of the District Hospital of Lambaré. The sample was 19 Nursing professionals who deal with users with diabetic foot. Results: it was visualized that the majority of the personnel is of feminine sex, in greater percentage it is in the age group of 31 to 40 years. In terms of academic training, all the respondents have a university degree and those with more seniority are between 11 and 20 years old. In a percentage of 78% of the nursing staff know and handle diabetic foot correctly.
