Opinión de docentes y estudiantes sobre el ajedrez como herramienta pedagógica para mejorar el aprendizaje de los alumnos de la Universidad San Lorenzo sede Central

    El objetivo general de la investigación fue conocer la opinión sobre el ajedrez como herramienta pedagógica para mejorar la capacidad de aprendizaje y comprensión de los alumnos de la sede Central de la Universidad San Lorenzo, fue un estudio no experimental descriptivo, con enfoque mixto. Para el enfoque cuantitativo se tuvo un diseño descriptivo de corte transversal, se utilizó una encuesta en una muestra de los estudiantes mediante el muestreo no probabilístico por conveniencia. Para el enfoque cualitativo se utilizó una guía de preguntas mediante la entrevista. Los docentes identificaron que las dificultades que presentaban los estudiantes en el proceso de aprendizaje eran por una educación media bastante pobre, hábitos para la lectura no desarrollados. A pesar de que los docentes facilitan al alumno los materiales de estudio, no es suficiente para el logro de los objetivos de aprendizaje. Como conclusión se determinó que existe el interés y la factibilidad económica de implantar el ajedrez como una herramienta para fortalecer el aprendizaje.

    The general objective of the research was to know the opinion about chess as a pedagogical tool to improve the learning and comprehension capacity of students at the San Lorenzo University Headquarters, it was a non-experimental descriptive study, with a mixed approach. The survey was used as a means of data collection, through non-probabilistic sampling, interviews were also conducted with the university’s teaching staff, to the students. It was determined that 100% of the students surveyed agree to improve their concentration skills so the implementation of chess would be a tool accepted by students. The teachers identified that the difficulties that the students presented in the learning process was due to a very poor average education, undeveloped reading habits, although the teachers provide the student with the study materials, it is not enough for the achievement of the learning objectives. As a conclusion it was determined that there is interest and the economic feasibility of implementing chess as a tool to strengthen learning.
