Causas de denegación del examen de Papanicolau

    El Cáncer de cuello uterino es la segunda neoplasia maligna más frecuente en las mujeres. El Papanicolaou es un test al cual las mujeres deben someterse de manera preventiva a partir del inicio de las relaciones sexuales para detectar precozmente las lesiones pre-invasivas del epitelio del cuello uterino y así evitar las muertes a causa del cáncer cervicouterino. El objetivo de este trabajo fue detectar los motivos por los cuales las mujeres que acuden al Hospital de Villa no se realizaron el estudio del Papanicolaou. Se realizó un estudio descriptivo, longitudinal y deductivo, con una muestra de 100 pacientes que acudieron al Hospital de Villa Elisa en los meses de marzo a mayo del año 2017 utilizando encuestas. Se concluye que las pacientes que acuden al Hospital de Villa Elisa no se realizan el Papanicolaou en primer lugar por miedo al procedimiento, y en segundo lugar porque en sus lugares respectivos de trabajo no les dieron permiso para ir a realizarse dicho estudio, pese a que existe una ley que otorga licencia una vez al año para realizarse el PAP y la Mamografía.

    Cervical Cancer is the second most frequent female malignancy. The Pap smear is a test that women should undergo preemptively from the beginning of sexual relations to detect early lesions pre-invasive of the epithelium of the cervix to prevent deaths from cervical cancer. The objective of this study was to detect the reasons why women who came to the Hospital of Villa Elisa did not undergo the study of the PAP. It was a longitudinal and deductive, descriptive study, using surveys with a sample of 100 patients who came to the Hospital of Villa Elisa between March and May in 2017. It is concluded that patients who came to the Hospital of Villa Elisa did not perform the PAP test, firstly because of fear to the procedure, and secondly because in their respective places of work they did not give them permission to conduct such a study, although there is a law that licensed to perform PAP and mammography once a year.
