    El objetivo de la presente investigación es explicar la etapa de Tamatán como hacienda para comprender las particularidades de la finca, su origen, su trayectoria en el porfiriato, su perímetro en hectáreas, el modo de su administración, la lucha revolucionaria y el proceso de compraventa a principios de la década de 1920. Los archivos consultados para la investigación fueron: el Archivo General e Histórico del Estado de Tamaulipas, el Archivo Histórico del Congreso del Estado de Tamaulipas; el Archivo Manuel González y el de Manuel González hijo; y el acervo documental Joaquín Meade del Instituto de Investigaciones Históricas de la Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas. Investigar el caso de Tamatán contribuye a llenar una laguna de información existente en la entidad tamaulipeca; pues sólo hay referencias de la hacienda en algunas obras generales de la historia de Tamaulipas. Buscar datos de esta unidad productiva del porfiriato, permitió identificar las actividades que desarrolló de 1894 a 1922. Una contribución trascendental del trabajo fue la consulta de los archivos Manuel González y Manuel González hijo de la Universidad Iberoamericana, que aportaron información que no ha sido expuesta en otras investigaciones. Por último, por medio del estudio de la hacienda de Tamatán se busca enriquecer la historiografía tamaulipeca.

    The objective of this research is to explain the stage of Tamatán as a farm to understand the particularities of the farm, its origin, its trajectory in the Porfiriato, its perimeter in hectares, the mode of its administration, the revolutionary struggle and the purchase and sale process at the beginning of the 1920s. The archives consulted for the investigation were the General and Historical Archive of the Congress of the State of Tamaulipas; the Manuel González Archives and the Manuel González son; and the Joaquin Meade documentary collection of the Institute of Historical Research of the Autonomous University of Tamaulipas. Investigating the case of Tamatán contributes to filling an existing information gap in the state of Tamaulipas; as there are only references to the hacienda in some general works of the history of Tamaulipas. Searching for data from this productive unit of the Porfiriato, allowed to identify the activities that it developed from 1894 to 1922. A transcendental contribution of the work was the consultation of the archives Manuel González and Manuel González son of the Ibero-American University, which provided information that has not been exposed in other research. Finally, through the study of the Tamatán farm, the aim is to enrich the Tamaulipas historiography.
