  • By comparing all the available versions of Étienne de Clave’s Cours de Chimie, both in print and in manuscript, we can shed new light on his life and works, some of his chymical ideas, his teaching, and the development of his Cours. As already noticed by other scholars, it now definitely appears that the printed version (1646) was certainly not the last version of this work.
