Investigación en acupuntura de México y el mundo: un análisis bibliométrico de la base de datos Web of Science

    El objetivo de este estudio fue caracterizarla producción científica en acupuntura a nivel mundial y en México. Se realizó un análisis bibliométrico descriptivo y retrospectivo de los artículos publicados por investigadores en el ámbito mundial sobre acupuntura en el período 2012 2022, así como de los artículos publicados por investigadores en México sin restricción de tiempo. Se analizaron los tipos de artículos, el patrón de autoría, el país, las revistas de publicación, el impacto y las redes de colaboración. Se utilizaron las bases de datos Web of Sciencey PubMed para la búsqueda de los registros, así como los programas VOS viewer y el paquete Bibliometrix de R para el análisis bibliométrico. Los resultados mostraron que los temas de investigación en acupuntura han cambiado en la última década y que actualmente los estudios en biología celular y genética son tendencia. Existe un crecimiento evidente de la producción de literatura en el área a nivel mundial. En México hay grupos de investigación en acupuntura dentro de instituciones educativas y de investigación nacionales consolidadas, como la UNAM, la UAM y el IPN; sin embargo, no se evidencia colaboración entre estas.

    This study aimed to characterize the scientific production of acupuncture world wide and in Mexico. A descriptive and retrospective bibliometric analysis of the articles published world wide on acupuncture in2012–2022 and the articles published by researchers in Mexico without time restriction was carried out. The types of articles, the pattern of authorship, country, publication journals, impact and collaboration networks were analyzed. The Webof Science and PubMed data bases were used to search there cords. Also, we used the VOS viewer program and the RBibliometrix pack age to assess the bibliometric analysis. The results showed that acupuncture research topics have changed in the last decade, and cell biology and genetics studies are trending. There is an evident growth in the production of literature in the area worldwide. In Mexico, acupuncture research groups exist in consolidated educational and research institutions such as UNAM, UAM, and IPN; however, there is no evidence of collaboration between them.
