Resumen de Bibliometric Analysis of Scientific Production on Visual and Performing Arts Indexed in Scopus: Achievements and Challenges

This article explores art disciplines, including visual and performing arts, which allow for creative expression and representation. The progress of these disciplines is closely tied to scientific advancements and the spread of knowledge. Bibliometric studies are a valuable tool for evaluating research indicators in various fields, and this study employs bibliometric analysis to assess scientific production in visual and performing arts from 2016 to 2020. The analysis included 173 journals and 373 articles, and the results showed a growing trend in these fields, but the increase was not statistically significant. Additionally, the study found a high rate of documentary production with single authorship, highlighting the need to encourage collaborative networks. The study concludes that the limited collaboration between countries, the unproductive regions, and the lack of collaborative networks for co-authorship have hindered scientific production in visual and performing arts during the 2016-2020 period.

El arte incluye distintas disciplinas que permiten la expresión creativa y la representación escénica, estando relacionadas con el progreso científico y la difusión del conocimiento. Los estudios bibliométricos evalúan indicadores de investigación y permiten analizar artículos científicos. Se realizó un análisis bibliométrico de las categorías Visual Arts y Performing Arts indexadas en Scopus durante 2016-2020 para evaluar la producción científica global en estas disciplinas. Se analizaron 173 revistas y 373 artículos a través de RStudio y biblioshiny con el paquete Bibliometrix. Los resultados mostraron una tendencia al crecimiento en las disciplinas de artes visuales y artes escénicas, pero no fue estadísticamente significativo. También se encontró un alto índice de producción documental con autoría única, lo que sugiere la necesidad de fomentar redes colaborativas. La falta de colaboración de coautoría, la limitada colaboración entre países y las regiones poco productivas afectaron la producción científica en estas disciplinas durante el período estudiado.
