El vano ayer (2004) de Isaac Rosa es una novela de metaficción histórica que deconstruye el discurso literario y las construcciones espaciales cotidianas para concienciar al lector sobre la perpetuación del pasado franquista en el presente “democrático.” La yuxtaposición de El vano ayer como forma novelística e Isaac Rosa como presencia en las medias sociales intermedia en, facilita y produce narrativas y caminos por la retórica y el espacio, sobre todo los espacios de resistencia en Madrid. Este artículo explora la manera en que El vano ayer e Isaac Rosa como intelectual público crea un itinerario de protesta contra-hegemónica. Este itinerario describe y luego reformula la conciencia histórica realizada por lo léxico y lo concreto, como las calles y los monumentos de Madrid que contienen vestigios del gobierno franquista

Isaac Rosa’s El vano ayer (2004) is a historical metanarrative that deconstructs both literary discourse and everyday spatial constructs in order to document the perpetuation of the Francoist past in the “democratic” present. The juxtaposition of El vano ayer as a novelistic form and Isaac Rosa as a social media presence mediates, facilitates, and produces narratives and pathways through and about rhetoric and space; specifically spaces of resistance in Madrid. This article explores how El vano ayer and Isaac Rosa as a public intellectual create an itinerary of counter-hegemonic protest. This itinerary describes and then reformulates the historical consciousness realized through the lexical and the concrete, as in the streets and monuments in Madrid that contain vestiges of the Francoist government
