  • Resumen
    • After a rich career in Lyons, crowned by the creation of the title of "peintre ordinaire de ville" in 1623 and that of "peintre du roi" in 1626, the memory of Horace Le Blanc (around 1575-1637) was gradually overshadowed in the 18th century by the renown of his famous student, Jacques Blanchard. This fall to near oblivion was reenforced by the very few number of works from his hand that have come down to us. Because of this it is difficult to appreciate his art.

The rediscovery of several unpublished works; a painting, its preparatory drawings and another leaf, is therefore extremely valuable. Through them can be better understood the range of the influences he received as well as demonstrating new stylistic aspects in the corpus of his work that may lead to the rediscovery of other works.
