    El deseo de conocer el futuro y las variadas formas de intentar alcanzar ese saber vedadoes frecuente en los personajes cervantinos. En este trabajo recorremos las obras de Cervantes en buscaespecífca de agüeros, es decir, manifestaciones de orden natural que se leen como señales del porvenir.En una época especialmente entrenada en la lectura simbólica del mundo, el mecanismo de convertirindicios en transmisores de mensajes elocuentes es habitual y puede estar en el trasfondo de las prácticas que relevamos. Asimismo, la preocupación por el futuro o por el fn, que se trasluce en la búsquedade señales en el presente de los personajes, puede servir también de elemento estructurante en las tramas argumentales. En el recorrido que aquí se propone no se buscan sistematizaciones, sino diferencias:atender cada obra o pasaje cervantino a partir de su peculiaridad y de su conflicto.

    The desire to know the future and the various ways of trying to achieve that forbidden knowledge is frequent in the characters of Cervantes. In this paper we go through the works ofCervantes in a specifc search for omens, that is, manifestations of a natural order that are read as signsof the future. In an age especially trained in a symbolic interpretation of the world, the mechanism ofconverting hints into senders of eloquent messages is common and may be in the basis of the practicesthat we are analyzing. Also, concern for the future or for the end, which is revealed in the search forsigns in the present of the characters, can also serve as a structuring element in plot lines. In the itinerary here proposed, diferences, not systematizations, are sought for: to attend to each Cervantine workor passage based on its own peculiarity and its own conflict.
