Perception of formal and informal institutions involved in the civic education of children

    La Escuela y la Televisión son instituciones formales e informales que contribuyen a la formación ciudadana de las niñas y los niños. Este análisis expone que tanto la escuela como la televisión aportan educación, aunque esta no sea la que se espera, esto se expone como importante ya que los niños representan  el capital activo de una sociedad, son ellos quienes se encargaran de mantener el orden, las costumbres y tradiciones de su país. Estas instituciones como formadores de opinión, son determinantes para lograr una sociedad mas equitativa que ayude a crear una mejor sociedad.  Este trabajo recurrió a la teoría Desarrollo Cognitivo, para determinar la edad del grupo muestra y entender el proceso de toma de decisiones en los infantes ; se apeló a la teoría del cultivo para el análisis de los efectos de la Televisión; se utilizó un método mixto, descriptivo, exploratorio, transversal; en el trabajo de campo se manejó la técnica de encuesta con el cuestionario como herramienta. Para determinar la muestra se consultaron dos fuentes: el INEGI ( 2010) expuso, 92 562 menores, en tanto la Secretaría de Educación, mostró datos de 157, 105 Infantes; la muestra quedó comprendida de 384 Niñas y Niños, la encuesta final aplicada fue de 500.El estudio demostró que las niñas y los niños perciben que sus personajes televisivos favoritos manifiestanuno de los valores necesarios en la formación ciudadana, la libertad de expresión. Los menores expresan sus ideas, utilizando para ello, la comunicación tanto verbal como no verbal, pero también utiliza acciones como: insultando y ofendiendo a los demás personajes.

    School and Television are formal and informal institutions that contribute to the civic education of girls and boys. This analysis shows that school and television provide education.  Although this is not what is expected, this is exposed as important because children represent the active capital of a society, they are responsible for maintaining order, customs and traditions of their country. These institutions, as opinion makers, are decisive for achieving a more equitable society that helps to create a better society. This work resorted to the Cognitive Development theory, to determine the age of the sample group and to understand the decision making process of the infants; we used the crop theory to analyze the effects of television; a mixed, descriptive, exploratory, transverse method was used in the field work for the survey technique that was handled with the questionnaire as a tool. In order to determine the sample, two sources were consulted: INEGI (2010) presented 92 562 minors, while Secretary of Education showed data of 157, 105 infants; the sample comprised 384 girls and boys; the final survey applied was 500.The study showed that girls and boys perceive in their favorite TV show characters, one of the values needed in citizen education, freedom of expression. Minors express their ideas using verbal and non-verbal communication, but also using actions such as: insulting and offending the other characters.
