    El presente artículo aborda las aportaciones que la gobernanza del desarrollo sustentable ha dejado y su utilidad como  referente para planes del desarrollo de México. Se realiza un análisis documental  sobre gobernanza global, regional y nacional de las políticas emanadas sobro desarrollo sustentable. Se identifican las propuestas provenientes de las naciones unidas, las de la comisión europea y la agenda nacional que se desarrolla en la actualidad que aborda la temática en cuestión. Se pudo concluir que los retos que el desarrollo sustentable genera en las agendas de políticas públicas se encuentran vigentes, en lo referente a la coordinación, continuidad e implementación efectiva.Palabras clave: Desarrollo sustentable, gobernanza multinivel, Unión Europea, gobernanza globalAbstract  The present article addresses the contributions that the sustainable growth governance has left and its utility as a standard for Mexico development plans. A documental analysis is executed about global, regional and national governance of emitted policies about sustainable development. Proposals coming from the United Nations are identified such as the ones of the European Commission, and the currently national agenda that address the current issue. It was possible to conclude that the challenges generated by the sustainable development in the public policy agendas are valid, with regard to the coordination, continuity and effective implementation.Key words: Sustainable growth, multilevel governance, European Commission, global governance. Cómo referenciar este artículo:Tijerina, W.
