    En 2000 se publicó la primera edición del manual de Ciencia Política de Josep María Vallés: antes del 11-S neoyorkino, antes del 11-M madrileño, antes de la Gran Recesión iniciada en 2007, antes de la irrupción de las redes sociales, antes del surgimiento de movimientos sociales como el 15-M u Occupy Wall Street. Es extremadamente difícil calibrar bien cuánto ha cambiado el mundo en la última década y media. De lo que no caben dudas, sin embargo, es que la realidad política evoluciona a un ritmo vertiginoso, yse trata por lo tanto de dos mundos, el de 2000 y el de 2015, dramáticamente distintos. Una obra que conseguía compendiar las principales nociones políticas en el año 2000 está muy lejos de explicarlas en 2015. Para que nuestro conocimiento de esa realidad sea adecuado es necesario que las herramientas con que contamos para estudiarla avancen en consonancia: es necesario actualizar tales conocimientos de manera permanente

    In 2000, the first edition of the Political Science manual by Josep María Vallés was published: before 9-11 in New York, before 11-M in Madrid, before the Great Recession that began in 2007, before the irruption of social networks, before of the emergence of social movements such as 15-M or Occupy Wall Street. It is extremely difficult to gauge how much the world has changed in the last decade and a half. What is certain, however, is that political reality is evolving at a dizzying pace, and therefore it is about two worlds, that of 2000 and that of 2015, dramatically different. A work that managed to summarize the main political notions in the year 2000 is far from explaining them in 2015. For our knowledge of this reality to be adequate, the tools we have to study it must advance accordingly: it is necessary to update such knowledge of permanent way
