La plasmaticidad eisensteiniana. ¿Pasado, o presente o todo lo contrario?

    Tras una visita a los estudios de Disney en 1930, Sergei Eisenstein escribió varios textos sobre una característica que detectó en el cine de animación del momento: la plasmaticidad (Plasmaticness). Con este adjetivo intentó definir la capacidad que tienen los cuerpos y los objetos en animación de alterar su forma original a lo largo del relato. Recientemente, algunos autores (Cook, 2018; Väliaho, 2017; Rebecchi, 2020) han desempolvado estos textos y han analizado la animación y sus subproductos a través de la plasticidad propuesta por Eisenstein. Este texto persigue analizar producciones de todos los tiempos del cine de animación para ver si la presencia de la plasticidad ha disminuido o ha aumentado. La intención es saber si este rasgo que Eisenstein vio como característico de la animación de los inicios se mantiene a través del tiempo y si aún está presente en las producciones actuales.

    After visiting the Disney studios in 1930, Sergei Eisenstein wrote several texts about a characteristic that he detected in the animation cinema of the time: plasmaticness. With this adjective he tried to define the ability of animated bodies and objects to alter their original form throughout the story. Recently some authors (Cook, 2018; Väliaho, 2017; Rebecchi, 2020) have dusted off these texts and have analyzed animation and its by-products through the plasmaticness proposed by Eisenstein. This text aims to analyze productions of all times of animation cinema to see if the presence of plasticity has decreased, or increased. The intention is to find out if this feature that Eisenstein saw as characteristic of early animation is maintained over time and if it is still present in current productions.
