    El documento analiza la gestión del turismo rural comunitario en el Centro de Turismo Comunitario Cansacoto Ruta Chiriboga, como una forma de incentivar el desarrollo económico, la conservación de la naturaleza y la sustentabilidad en el territorio. Esta investigación es de tipo exploratorio con enfoque cualitativo, se realizaron entrevistas semiestructuradas a informantes clave de la comunidad, la información fue contrastada con fuentes secundarias, documentos académicos y páginas web especializadas. Entre las conclusiones se destacan el rol del turismo como una actividad social y colectiva que beneficia a los actores involucrados, dándoles la oportunidad de contar con fuentes de ingreso alternativas a grupos que generalmente se encuentran excluidos (mujeres, jóvenes, etc.). También se resalta el hecho de que la vocación turística de los destinos debe ser construida, un territorio que cuente con recursos naturales y culturales, puede plantearse una perspectiva de turismo sustentable capaz de generar actividades productivas que contribuyan a la mitigación de fenómenos como la migración campo-ciudad

    The document analyzes the management of community-based rural tourism in the Cansacoto Community Tourism Center - Ruta Chiriboga, as a way to encourage economic development, nature conservation and sustainability in the territory. This is an exploratory research with a qualitative approach, semistructured interviews were conducted with key informants of the community, the information was contrasted with secondary sources, academic documents and specialized web pages. Among the conclusions, we highlight the role of tourism as a social and collective activity that benefits the actors involved, giving them the opportunity to have alternative sources of income for groups that are generally excluded (women, youth, etc.). It also highlights the fact that the tourist vocation of the destinations must be built, a territory that has natural and cultural resources, can consider a sustainable tourism perspective capable of generating productive activities that contribute to the mitigation of phenomena such as ruralurban migration.
