A professional approach to AD and SDH practices for the media

  • The aim of this presentation is to illustrate how AVT professionals work in order to make the media content accessible for the blind and visually impaired and for the deaf and the hard of hearing. From a professional approach, we will describe the main restrictions found when carrying out these practices in À Punt Mèdia’s accessibility service, as well as the strategies used by the AVT team so as to overcome the many obstacles found during the process. Proposals for improvement will be suggested based on our first-hand experience as well as on the results of this study, which we hope can contribute to bringing consciousness about the importance of providing quality services while making sure that optimal working conditions are guaranteed.
