    Lalenguaesunodelosprincipalescomponentesdeltransnacionalismoqueestáganandocadavezmásterrenoenlainvestigación.Elusodelalenguaconducealacreacióny/opreservacióndeconexionesentreespaciosdistantes,frecuentementeatravésdelasfronterasnacionales(Jiménezetal,2009).Unmodismoesunafrasedeusohabitualenlalenguaquellevaconsigounaherenciaculturalehistóricaydesempeñaunpapelfundamentalenelusodeesta.Sinembargo,susignificadoesunretoysesabepocosobreélencontextostransnacionales.Estetrabajoseinteresaporeltransnacionalismoidiomáticoenlospaísesqueproclamanelislamcomosureligión.SehaoptadoporArgeliaoccidentalcomocasodeestudiotransnacionalenelquelosmodismosislámicosconstituyenunaparteimportantedelasvariedadesárabesyreflejandiversosaspectosculturalesehistóricosdelavidacotidianadelosargelinos.Enlasactividadestransnacionalesparticipannosólolosespecialistasenidiomas,sinotambiénlaspersonasquesetrasladanaArgelia,comolosinmigrantes,losinversoresempresarialesextranjerosylosestudianteseuropeosdeErasmus,ademásdelosemigrantesqueabandonanelpaís:lacomprensiónidiomáticaayudaalosprofesoresdelalenguaextranjeraenelpaísdeacogidaainstruirmejorasushijos.Porlotanto,estetrabajosugierelaaplicacióndeestemodeloorientadoalconocimientodelalenguaextranjera(Purpura,2016),alosmodismosislámicoscomounaformadecontribuiralacomprensióndeltransnacionalismoargelino.Tambiénintentacomprobarhastaquépuntoestaaplicacióndelmodelopodríaserefectivaenlaactualidad.Paraello,sehanrecogidodatosdecampoysehaentrevistadoaochentayochoinformantes.Losresultadosmuestranquel mayoríadelosrecursosdelmodelopuedenaplicarsealosmodismosrecogidos.Sinembargo,notodoslostransnacionalesnecesitaronpasarposteriormenteportodoslosestratosdelmodeloparallegaralacomprensiónyproducciónidiomáticasenelcontextoactual.SeaportanademásotrassugerenciasquepodríanmejorareldominiodelosidiomatismosislámicosporpartedelosreciénllegadosaArgeliaoccidental

    Languageisoneofthemainconstituentsoftransnationalismthatisincreasinglygaininggroundinresearch.Languageuseleadstothecreationand/orpreservationofconnectionsbetweendistantspaces,frequentlyacrossnationalboundaries(Jiménezetal,2009).Anidiomisaregularlyusedphraseinthelanguagetocarryitsculturalandhistoricalheritageandplayavitalroleinlanguageuse.However,attimesitsmeaningmightpresentachallengewhilelittleisknownaboutitintransnationalcontexts.ThispaperdealswithidiomatictransnationalismincountriesproclaimingIslamastheirreligion.ChoicefellonwesternAlgeriaasatransnationalstudycasewhereIslamicidiomsmakeanimportantpartofArabicvarietiesandreflectdiverseculturalandhistoricalaspectsoftheAlgerians’everydaylife.Notonlylanguagespecialistsareinvolvedintransnationalactivities,butalsoindividualsmovingtoAlgeria,includingimmigrants,foreignbusinessinvestors,EuropeanErasmusstudents,inadditiontoemigrantsleavingthecountry:Idiomaticunderstandinghelpsschoolforeignlanguageteachersinthehostcountrytobetterinstructtheirchildren.Therefore,thispapersuggeststheapplicationofmeaning-orientedmodelofforeignlanguageknowledge(Purpura,2016)toIslamicidiomsasawaytocontributetothecomprehensionofAlgeriantransnationalism.Italsoattemptstochecktheextenttowhichthismodelapplicabilitycouldbecurrentlyeffective.Observationwasundertakentocollectdataandeightyeightinformantswereinterviewed.Resultsshowedthatmostofthemodelresourcescouldbeappliedtotheidiomcollected.Yet,notalltransnationalindividualsneededtogosubsequentlythroughallthemodellayerstoreachidiomaticunderstandingandproductioninthepresentcontext.Furthersuggestionsthatmightimprovethenewcomers’proficiencyofIslamicidiomsinwesternAlgeriawereprovided
