    Se ofrece una síntesis del devenir vital y de la obra de un personaje muy interesante de la historia de Canarias, en especial durante el primer tercio del s. XIX: Antonio José Ruiz de Padrón, sacerdote gomero, ilustrado, que defendería en las Cortes de Cádiz unos planteamientos, por lo general de corte liberal, destacando entre ellos su dictamen sobre la Inquisición.

    A synthesis of the life course and the work of a very interesting character in the history of the Canary Islands is offered, especially during the first third of the s. XIX: Antonio José Ruiz de Padrón, a Gomeran priest, enlightened, who would defend in the Cortes of Cádiz some approaches, generaelly of a liberal nature, highlighting smong them his opinion on the Inquisition.
