Resumen de Estrategias de Turismo Sostenible en las Cittaslow Españolas

  El turismo tiene una enorme capacidad para generar crecimiento económico y dinamizar el mercado laboral, siendo uno de sus principales retos actuales, contribuir al desarrollo sostenible. El enfoque de la filosofía slow propugna el turismo slow como forma de vida y de consumo responsable y sostenible, y la red cittaslow española ha adoptado dicho planteamiento. El objetivo de esta investigación es analizar el avance en el cumplimiento de los principios del turismo slow en la red cittaslow en España. La metodología aplicada consiste en analizar comparativamente las actuaciones de oferta turística que divulgan las web oficiales de los ayuntamientos de las cittaslow españolas, a la luz de principios del turismo slow. Los hallazgos muestran que los 12 municipios que se han registrado en la red de cittaslow en España tienen relevancia en patrimonio histórico y recursos naturales, pero sólo un 30% aprovecha la singularidad de ser una cittaslow, para impulsar su turismo, de forma sistemática. La publicación de sus indicadores cittaslow podría acelerar los avances.

  Tourism has an enormous capacity to generate economic growth and boost the labor market, but contributing to sustainable development is one of the main challenges today. The slow philosophy approach advocates slow tourism as a responsible and sustainable way of life and consumption, and the Spanish Cittaslow network has adopted this approach. The objective of this research is to analyze progress in compliance with the principles of slow tourism in the Spanish Cittaslow network. The applied methodology consists of a comparative analysis of the tourism offerings communicated on the ofcial websites of the Spanish Cittaslow municipalities, in light of slow tourism principles. The ndings show that the 12 municipalities that have registered in the Citta Slow network in Spain are relevant in terms of historical heritage and natural resources, but only 30% take advantage of the uniqueness of being a Cittaslow to systematically promote their tourism.
