  • Resumen
    • This paper uses the multicriteria ordering concerning the perception of public safety in a municipality in Mexico, specifically the case of Culiacan, Sinaloa. The objective of this study was to obtain a ranking of the four quadrants into which the city was divided and thus know the social dynamics, perception of insecurity, and evaluation of the authorities responsible for providing public security. To collect the data, a questionnaire was used through an exploratory study carried out on citizens in 46 neighborhoods of the city of Culiacan. The data process used was the ELimination Et Choice Translating Reality (ELECTRE) III method and the Ordered Weighted Average (OWA) operator, with which an outranking relationship was constructed, and the quadrant relationship was generated. As a result of the process, it is possible to visualize that two quadrants have higher security perceptions than the other two. This categorization will help construct specific security strategies in public safety and improve citizen perception based on the reality of each place in the city and not just based on the complete evaluation of the city
