    Equivocadamente, se ha creído que la paz puede conseguirse combatiendo la violencia de unos con otra mayor. Muchos piensan que la violencia es inherente a los seres humanos, pero la base real de la humanidad es la cooperación y el afecto que caracteriza a las relaciones pacíficas. El enfoque propuesto por AMLO contrasta con el de otros gobiernos que ponen el acento en la represión y el castigo para inhibir conductas antisociales. Sin embargo, las cifras de 2019 y 2020 son mayores que las de años anteriores. Hace falta comprender mejor en qué consisten las causas de la violencia y, por tanto, las medidas más eficaces lograr la paz social.

    Wrongly, It has been believed that peace can be achieved by fighting the violence of anybody with another more strong violence. Many think that violence is inherent in human beings, but the real foundation of humanity is the cooperation and affection that characterize peaceful relationships. The approach proposed by AMLO contrasts with that of other governments that emphasize repression and punishment to inhibit antisocial behavior. However, the figures for 2019 and 2020 are higher than those of previous years. It is necessary to better understand what the causes of violence consist of and, therefore, the most effective measures to achieve social peace.
