Resumen de Os Primórdios da Família Leme na Madeira (Séculos XV-XVI)

This article intends to situate in space and time the Leme family, descendant from Martim Leme, a native of Bruges, established in Portugal in the middle of the 15th century, undoing, in the light of the documentation already known, a series of mistakes that were created around them.It also intends to follow the course of the first three generations of Lemes on the island of Madeira, from the arrival of António Leme to Funchal, in the last quarter of the 15th century, until the end of the 16th century, expressly referring to the strict settlement (morgado) founded in 1552 by Pedro Leme.

Com este artigo pretende-se situar no espaço e no tempo a família Leme, descendente de Martim Leme, natural de Bruges, estabelecido em Portugal em meados do século XV, desfazendo, à luz da documentação já conhecida, uma série de equívocos que se foram criando à sua volta.Pretende-se também seguir o percurso das três primeiras gerações de Lemes na ilha da Madeira, desde a chegada de António Leme ao Funchal, no último quartel do século XV, até ao final do século XVI, referindo expressamente o morgado instituído em 1552 por Pedro Leme.
