Resumen de Sidney Sonnino e la vita politica italiana prima della Grande Guerra (1909-1914)

Luciano Monzali

  • Aim of this essay is to analyse the pivotal moments of Sidney Sonnino’s political activity and thought from 1909 to 1914. By using his speeches and writings we tried to clarify and explain Sonnino’s political stance towards the universal suffrage law and the Italian conquest of Tripolitania and Cyrenaica. Particular attention is given to the relationship between Sonnino and Giolitti as well as to the crisis of the Centre parliamentary group led by the Tuscan deputy, that decided its own break-up in 1913.
