    El artículo identifica obras de imaginería religiosa existentes en la Arquidiócesis de San José creadas por Juan Rafael Chacón Solares o que pueden ser atribuidas a su manufactura. El estudio se realiza por medio de tres acciones fundamentales: 1. Determinación de rasgos estilísticos del artista que posibilitan la atribución de autoría; 2. Levantamiento de un listado de las obras atribuibles al artista Juan Rafael Chacón; 3. Descripción del estado de conservación y riesgos que amenazan las obras existentes del escultor en las iglesias de la Arquidiócesis de San José.

    This article identifies the religious art found in the Archdiocese of San José created by Juan Rafael Chacón Solares or that can be attributed to his manufacture. The research has three elemental tasks: 1. Determination of the artist´s stylistic features that enables the attribution of his authorship; 2. Drawing up a list of the works attributable to the artist Juan Rafael Chacón; 3. Description of the state of conservation and threats to the existing works of the sculptor in the churches of the Archdiocese of San José.
