Maraísa da Silva Soares Costa, Nayara Kelly Ferreira dos Santos, Cláudia Aparecida Avelar Ferreira

  • English

The aim of this study is to analyze the theme of accessibility for people with physical disabilities, through speeches from texts of the cartoon genre. Descriptive and qualitative methodology was adopted to analyze the four cartoons. Reading the cartoons allowed us to verify the critical ideological position and denunciation of the lack of accessibility for these people. Accessibility for people with disabilities or reduced mobility is regulated by Brazilian legislation, standards, and international convention. Despite this, the legal requirements for these people to have access to places and environments in public and private spaces are not complied.
