    Nowadays it is possible observe innovation in the secretarial profession and in it routines. Thereby, considering the premise that there was a rupture in the secretariat profile, that is, the transformation from the operational to the strategic character, this work aims to reflect about the approach between the secretariat's historical foundations and the Schumpeterian destruction creative processes and innovation neo-Schumpeterian. The methodology is characterized by a qualitative, basic and descriptive research. About the technical procedures the chose was bibliographic and documental procedures, which support a discussion that proposes bring a theory of the economic field to a context in which the research object is the secretarial profession, its historical trajectory and the development of secretarial routines over time. In terms of results, the approximation between the theories was confirmed and, in this sense, it brings important elements for the expansion of the field of secretarial knowledge.

    Em tempos contemporâneos observa-se a inovação na profissão secretariado e nas rotinas secretariais. Considerada a premissa de que houve uma ruptura no perfil secretarial, isto é, a transformação do caráter essencialmente operacional para o estratégico, esse trabalho tem como objetivo refletir sobre o alinhamento entre os fundamentos históricos do secretariado e os processos schumpeteriano da destruição criativa e neo-schumpeteriano da inovação. A metodologia caracteriza-se pela abordagem qualitativa, de natureza básica e descritiva quanto aos objetivos. No que se refere aos procedimentos técnicos utilizou-se o bibliográfico e o documental, os quais subsidiam uma discussão que propõe trazer uma teoria do campo econômico para um contexto no qual o objeto de pesquisa é a profissão secretarial, sua trajetória histórica e o desenvolvimento das rotinas secretariais ao longo do tempo. Em termos de resultados, a aproximação entre as teorias foi confirmada e, nesse sentido, traz elementos importantes para a ampliação do campo do conhecimento secretarial, como também, para entendimento da evolução dessa área em termos de ação no contexto organizacional.
