Resumen de Ascetismo, martírio e glória: a devoção a Maria nos relatos alexandrinos e origenistas (séculos III-IV)

No presente artigo, pretendemos demonstrar de que maneira a veneração a mártires e virgens impulsionará a piedade mariana na região de Alexandria entre os séculos III e IV. Para tanto, enfocaremos as histórias de algumas virgens-mártires, tais como Potamiena, Apolônia, Tecla e Justina, bem como a apropriação de alguns desses relatos por autores alexandrinos e origenistas, o que possibilitará que a devoção a Maria seja resignificada e legitimada nos círculos eclesiásticos.

This article seeks to demonstrate how the veneration of martyrs and virgins will boost the Marian piety in the region of Alexandria between the third and fourth centuries. For this, we will highlight the stories of some virgin-martyrs, such as Potamiena, Apollonia, Thecla and Justine, as well as the ownership of some of these reports by Alexandrian and Origenist authors, which will allow the devotion to Mary to be reinterpreted and legitimized in the ecclesiastical circles.
