    Desde hace tiempo, se han establecido relaciones de interés y beneficio entre el terrorismo y el crimen organizado. Estos, asentados en el Sahel, avanzan y buscan nuevas formas para expandir su espacio de influencia. En esta búsqueda, han encontrado en el golfo de Guinea un espacio y unas circunstancias que han utilizado para fortalecerse, al tiempo que pactan alianzas con los piratas, principales actores criminales de dicha región.

    Estos actos ilícitos, si bien afectan a las citadas zonas y a su población, también tienen repercusión en el continente europeo, y especialmente en España, pues al contar con parte de su territorio nacional en el continente africano se convierte en una puerta de entrada para el avance de los ya nombrados fenómenos delictivos para el resto de Europa.

    From a long time, terrorism and organized crime have established a bound of mutual interest and benefit between each other. One of these relations, operating from the Sahel, is advancing and looking for new ways to extend its space of influence. In this development, they have found in the Gulf of Guinea a space and environment that have been used to strengthen their position while they reach an agreement with the pirates, the main criminal thread in that region.

    These illegal acts not only affect the aforementioned areas and their population, but it also has repercussions on the European continent, especially in Spain, by having part of its territories on the African continent, which makes its a doorway to spread the criminal phenomena into the rest of Europe.
