Resumen de La segunda edad nuclear: una visión desde Rusia

Recientemente el tabú de la no utilización del armamento nuclear parece haberse roto y el fantasma de un conflicto nuclear ha vuelto a cobrar fuerza. En el presente trabajo analizaremos la evolución técnica del armamento nuclear y cómo esta ha permitido lograr nuevos efectos en el campo de batalla. Continuaremos diseccionando el papel que los estrategas rusos asignan al armamento nuclear no estratégico y cómo podría ser empleado para obtener una ventaja militar importante sin desencadenar una represalia nuclear que lleve a la destrucción mutua asegurada. Seguidamente estudiaremos las capacidades que las Fuerzas Armadas de la Federación Rusa (FAFR) han ido desarrollando en los últimos años con el ánimo de poder materializar estos planes. Para finalizar, en un ejercicio de prospectiva, trataremos de vislumbrar un posible plan de operaciones ruso en un escenario de guerra nuclear limitada en el continente europeo.

Recently, the taboo about the non-use of nuclear weapons seems to have been broken and the specter of a nuclear conflict has once again gained strength. In this paper we will analyze the technical evolution of nuclear weapons and how it has allowed us to achieve new effects on the battlefield. We will continue with the role that Russian strategists assign to non-strategic nuclear weapons and how they could be used to gain significant military advantage without triggering a nuclear retaliation leading to mutual assured destruction. Next we will study the capabilities that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (RFAF) have been developing in recent years with the aim of being able to materialize these plans. To end with a prospective exercise in which we will try to glimpse what could be a possible plan of Russian operations in a scenario of nuclear war limited to the European continent.
