Tras la retirada estadounidense de Afganistán la república islámica colapsó ante el avance talibán. Estos han implantado, bajo la forma de un emirato, un régimen de terror que no ha sido capaz de consolidar completamente su poder ante las tensiones internas y los grupos opositores. Esta falta de control abre la posibilidad a que Afganistán se vuelva de nuevo a convertir en un santuario para varias organizaciones relacionadas con el terrorismo yihadista. Por otra parte, Afganistán sigue teniendo interés para actores globales y regionales, que en esta nueva situación han cambiado sus roles para proteger sus intereses. Entretanto, la supervivencia de la población y los derechos humanos se han visto claramente deteriorados en todo el país.

After US withdrawal from Afghanistan, the Islamic republic collapsed in front of the Taliban advance. Talibans have established, in an emirate way, a terror regime that has been unable to consolidate its power at all, due to internal tensions and opposition groups.
This lack of control opens the possibility that Afghanistan could once again become a sanctuary for various organizations linked to jihadist terrorism. On the other hand, Afghanistan continues to be of interest for global and regional actors, who in this new situation have changed their roles to protect their interests. In the meantime, the survival of the population and human rights have clearly been deteriorated all around the country.
