    Este artículo pretende mostrar las principales características del género del terror en Japón para, a través de un proceso de comparación con el mismo género en Occidente, visibilizar las similitudes y diferencias que existen en el mismo género en hemisferios diferentes. Igualmente, se analizarán las principales influencias académicas y culturales que han tenido los mayores exponentes de este género en Japón. Así, lo que se evidenciará es un trabajo donde, a través de la lectura diligente de algunas obras del género del terror en Japón, se han logrado marcar algunas pautas que serán útiles para el estudio de la literatura japonesa, y para el estudio de la literatura de terror más adelante. Así como un análisis de cómo se ve reflejada la tradición y la cultura del país del sol naciente, en sus escritos y representaciones artísticas.

    This article aims to show the main characteristics of the horror genre in Japan to, through a process of comparison with the same genre in the West, make visible the similarities and differences that exist in the same genre in different hemispheres. Likewise, it will analyze the main academic and cultural influences that have had the greatest exponents of this genre in Japan. Thus, what will be seen here is a work where some guidelines of the japanese horror have been delimited, thanks to a diligent process of reading of some novels of the horror genre in Japan, these guidelines will be useful for the study of the japanese literature, and, moreover, for the study of the horror japanese genre. As well as an analysis of how both, the Japanese tradition and culture is seen reflected in their writings and artistic representations.
