This study seeks to analyse, from the perspective of Public International Law, the so-called Artemis Accords, a new instrument that has emerged at the international level to complement primarily the 1967 Outer Space Treaty, as well as the other treaties governing outer space, with the exception of the 1979 Moon Agreement, which is not recognized by the sponsoring state of these Accords, the United States. These Artemis Accords has meant a break in the classic development of international space law, historically configured within the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS). The author has chosen to present the key elements of these Accords, addressing their development and most controversial aspects, while focusing primarily on their legal nature and their true scope within the international legal framework.
