Resumen de La imaginería festiva en Italia: «giganti e testoni»

En el presente trabajo tratamos de la presencia de gigantes y cabezudos (Giganti e testoni) en el sur de Italia. Con total certeza podemos afirmar que los gigantes llegaron a Sicilia por la expansión de la corona de Aragón hacia Italia, y posteriormente esta festividad cruzó el estrecho de Mesina para llegar a Calabria, siendo estas dos regiones italianas las que exhiben una mayor presencia y arraigo de la danza de gigantes.

In the present work we deal with the presence of processional giants in the south of Italy.
With total certainty we can affirm that the giants arrive to Sicily by the expansion of the Crown of Aragon towards Italy and later this festivity crosses the strait of Messina to reach Calabria, being these two Italian regions the ones that exhibit a greater presence and rootedness of the dance of giants.
