Resumen de Mujeres en la casa sevillana (siglo XVI): análisis del mercado inmobiliario y estudio arquitectónico

  Este artículo pretende destacar la importancia que tuvieron las mujeres en la arquitectura de las casas y el mercado inmobiliario en la ciudad de Sevilla, en España, en el siglo XVI. Estudiando más de un millar de apeos de casas de la Catedral y hospitales de caridad (informes detallados que incluían nombres de inquilinos, situación, distribución de espacios, dimensiones, construcción y estado de conservación) y analizando los edificios que describen, se ha podido concluir que la condición de género no siempre evidenció la ausencia de mujeres y que su influencia en la arquitectura fue considerable (un tercio de los arrendatarios eran mujeres de diferentes condiciones y escalas sociales, y el uso de estos inmuebles fue de lo más variado). Además, a partir de las recreaciones de viviendas se ha podido confirmar que definieron espacios propios en las casas, los denominados servicios de mujeres.

  This article aims to highlight the important role that women played in domestic architecture and the real estate market in the city of Seville, in Spain, in the 16th century. By studying more than a thousand apeos of houses in the Cathedral and charitable hospitals (detailed reports that included names of tenants, location, distribution of spaces, dimensions and even descriptions of the construction) and analysing the buildings they describe, it has been possible to conclude that the gender condition did not always show the absence of women and that their influence on architecture was more than notorious (a third of the tenants were women of different social conditions and scales, and the use of these properties was extremely varied). Furthermore, the recreations of the dwellings have confirmed that women defined their own spaces, the so-called women's services.
