    We intend to present here the foundations of Land Ethic, as defended by Leopold and Callicott, and how Land Ethic can deal with the problem of ecofascism. Our discussion will be divided into three moments. At first, we will explain the evolutionary assumptions that support the Land Ethic, more specifically, the thesis that morality has its origin in the way in which we, social mammals, adapted and evolved. In the second moment, we will discuss the foundations of the normative theory of Land Ethic, in particular, the intrinsic value of the Land and the holistic character of the theory. Finally, we will address the practical implications of Land Ethic, focusing on the ecofascism objection.

    Pretendemos apresentar aqui os fundamentos da ética da Terra, como defendida por Leopold e Callicott, e como a ética da Terra pode lidar com o problema do ecofascismo. Nossa discussão se dividirá em três momentos. No primeiro momento, explicitaremos os pressupostos evolutivos que dão sustentação para a ética da Terra, mais especificamente, a tese de que a moralidade possui sua origem na forma com que nós, mamíferos sociais, nos adaptamos e evoluímos. No segundo momento, discutiremos as bases da teoria normativa da ética da Terra, em especial, o valor intrínseco da Terra e o caráter holista da ética da Terra. Por fim, trataremos das implicações práticas da ética da Terra, com foco na objeção do ecofascismo.
