    Pasolini, imaginó África como el escenario de una Orestiada ideal del siglo XX, el primer capítulo de un amplio proyecto dedicado al hemisferio sur, lamentablemente inacabado. Sin embargo, queda el documental Notas para una Orestiada (1970), realizado tras dos estancias en Uganda y Tanzania respectivamente en diciembre de 1968 y febrero de 1969. En su recorrido por ciudades y pueblos tras la pista de una sociedad suspendida entre la industrialización y la herencia espiritual de la antigüedad hecha de mitos y dioses, Pasolini buscaba los orígenes de la humanidad, rindiendo un homenaje platónico al Hombre de Kibish y, buscando, al mismo tiempo, una humanidad todavía no contaminada por el neocapitalismo. Nuestro texto quiere hacer hincapié en las contradicciones de esta obra de Pasolini y también en su lectura original del África poscolonial

    Pasolini imagined Africa as the setting for an ideal 20th century Orestiade, the first chapter of a vast project dedicated to the southern hemisphere, unfortunately unfinished. However, the documentary Notes for an Orestiade (1970) remains, made after two stays in Uganda and Tanzania respectively in December 1968 and February 1969. In his journey through cities and towns on the trail of a society suspended between industrialization and the spiritual heritage of antiquity made of myths and gods, Pasolini searched for the origins of humanity, paying a Platonic homage to the Man of Kibish and, at the same time, searching an humanity still uncontaminated by neocapitalism. Our text wants to emphasize the contradictions in this work by Pasolini and also his original reading of postcolonial Africa of 1970.
