    En la revisión bibliográfica se recopiló la información más relevante sobre este tema específico, lo cual tuvo como objetivo general analizar la afectación psicológica y social en las familias de los pacientes con Cáncer. En este artículo, se describen las clasificaciones documentales referidas en la bibliografía consultada y los lineamientos que se establecen para la realización de un trabajo de esta naturaleza científica. La formulación de la situación problemática se basó en la afectación de las familias a nivel psicosocial de personas que padecen algún tipo de carcinoma maligno. Para eso se realizó una encuesta, donde se obtuvo una muestra que fue estudiada durante este artículo. Con relación a la metodología utilizada, la investigación fue realizada mediante un abordaje cuali-cuantitativo de tipo descriptivo, debido a que se llevó un proceso de recolección, y análisis de datos cuantitativos para el análisis. Se trabajó en una investigación de campo, con las actividades en el contexto objeto de estudio. Las fases del trabajo radican en la definición de los objetivos de la encuesta realizada y el desarrollo de la indagación bibliométrica, así como organizar la información de acuerdo con ello. Con respecto a los hallazgos obtenidos, se tiene que: la población estudiada fue de 120 familias y el tamaño de la muestra es de 90 de familias de los pacientes con cáncer, hospitalizados en las áreas de clínica del Hospital Oncológico Dr. Julio Villacreses Colmont del cantón Portoviejo Provincia de Manabí.

    In the bibliographic review, the most relevant information on this specific topic was collected, which had the general objective of analyzing the psychological and social affectation in the families of cancer patients. In this article, the documentary classifications referred to in the bibliography consulted and the guidelines established for carrying out a work of this scientific nature are described. The formulation of the problematic situation was based on the affectation of the families at the psychosocial level of people who suffer from some type of malignant carcinoma. For this, a survey was carried out, where a sample was obtained that was studied during this article. In relation to the methodology used, the research was carried out through a qualitative-quantitative approach of a descriptive type, due to the fact that a process of collection and analysis of quantitative data was carried out for the analysis. We worked on a field investigation, with the activities in the context under study. The phases of the work lie in the definition of the objectives of the survey carried out and the development of the bibliometric inquiry, as well as organizing the information accordingly. With respect to the findings obtained, we have that: the population studied was 120 families and the size of the sample is 90 from families of cancer patients, hospitalized in the clinical areas of the Dr. Julio Villacreses Colmont Oncology Hospital canton Portoviejo Province of Manabí.
