    En este artículo se realiza un estudio comparado de la novela Cómo dejar de escribir (2017), de Esther García Llovet, y la película La virgen de agosto(2019), de Jonás Trueba. A través del modo en que contextualizan sus historias en el connotado cronotopo de Madrid en agosto y de las vivencias de los protagonistas, se estudia la estructura y diégesis de ambos textos y se pone en diálogo la forma en que plantean temáticas como la identidad o las dudas creativas y códigos narrativos en torno al cuestionamiento de la realidad. Con ello se entiende que, pese a las diferentes miradas al espacio y a sus personajes que realizan la novelista y el cineasta, los textos se pueden entender como complementarios en su representación de la ciudad.

    This article is a comparative study of the novel Cómo dejar de escribir(2017), by Esther García Llovet, and the film La virgen de agosto(2019), by Jonás Trueba. Through the way in which they contextualize their stories in the chronotope of Madrid in August and the experiences of the protagonists, the structure and diegesis of both texts are studied and the way in which they raise issues such as identity or creative doubts and codes such as the questioning of reality are put into dialogue. In this way, it is understood that, despite the different views of space and its characters taken by the novelist and the filmmaker, the texts can be understood as complementary in their representation of the city.
