La familia pequeña Coelopidae (Diptera) está muy poco estudiada en Portugal y hasta ahora estaba representada por una sola especie en el continente y otra en los archipiélagos de Azores y Madeira. En este trabajo la especie Coelopa frigida (Fabricius) se cita por primera vez de Portugal y Orygma luctuosum Meigen (Diptera: Sepsidae) se cita por primera vez de la Península Ibérica.

The small family Coelopidae (Diptera) is very poorly studied in Portugal and was until recently represented by just one species in the mainland and another in the archipelagos of the Azores and Madeira. In the present paper the species Coelopa frigida (Fabricius) is recorded for the first time for Portugal and Orygma luctuosum Meigen (Diptera: Sepsidae) is first reported from the Iberian Peninsula.
