  • On 4 October 2022 the International Court of Justice has delivered an Order in the framework of the case concerning the Question of the Delimitation of the Continental Shelf between Nicaragua and Colombia beyond 200 Nautical Miles from the Nicaraguan Coast (Nicaragua v. Colombia), where — for the first time in its history – it indicated that, at the forthcoming oral proceedings, the Parties shall present arguments exclusively with regard to two different legal questions. The present contribution appreciates the Court’s Order for effectively ensuring that the proceedings may now run smoothly and efficiently, without impinging on the parties’ procedural rights.
