Covid-19: Lições para uma cultura de prevenção de risco

    The COVID-19 pandemic has shown that there are people who ignore their own risky behavior. There were differents forms to deal with this situation and the results over time shows that those who had a higher perception of risk, since they were based on the learning acquired in previous experiences, obtained better results, and vice versa. Resistance to coping measures was due by the inability of individuals to perceive the risks, resulting in a dangerous behavior for themselves and for the whole society. This shows the lack of a society involved in a culture of risk prevention. Based on the similarly already experienced, an approach is made on facts involving the pandemic, from which it is conclusively extracted that the lack of the notion of risk contributed to the unwanted effects, from which a bitter lesson is learned and that they should be used to change such deleterious behaviors and that it not be repeated.

    A pandemia da COVID-19 mostrou que existem pessoas que ignoram a sua própria conduta de risco. Houve diferentes formas de enfrentamento e os resultados ao longo do tempo mostraram que aqueles que tiveram maior percepção de risco, por estarem calcados no aprendizado adquirido em experiências anteriores, obtiveram melhores resultados, e vice-versa. As resistências às medidas de enfrentamento se deram por conta da incapacidade dos indivíduos de perceberem os riscos, redundando num comportamento perigoso para si e para toda a sociedade. Isso mostra a falta que faz uma sociedade envolta numa cultura de prevenção de riscos. Com base no similarmente já vivido, é feita uma abordagem sobre fatos envolvendo a pandemia, de onde se extrai, conclusivamente, que a falta da noção de risco contribuiu para os efeitos indesejados. Conclui-se que a pandemia serve de base para mudança comportamental em vista dos riscos evitáveis.
