Objetivo: Identificar el tipo de comportamiento de riesgo en pacientes con sospecha de COVID-19 que acuden al Hospital Regional Policial de Chiclayo, 2021. Métodos y materiales: Se diseñó un estudio con enfoque cuantitativo, no experimental de corte transversal y descriptivo aplicado a una muestra de 175 pacientes asegurados en este nosocomio; los mismos que fueron seleccionados a través del muestreo no probabilístico por conveniencia. Se aplicó un cuestionario con 18 ítems dimensionados en 4 factores (Medidas de bioseguridad, acceso a la información, automedicación y la actitud frente al tratamiento y vacuna) validados por cuatro expertos y con un alto índice que confiablidad (α = 0,85). Resultados: Los comportamientos de riesgo se dieron porque, algunas veces (72 %) y siempre (11 %) se cogieron el rostro de manera constante e inconsciente; el nunca (26 %) y algunas veces (58 %) haber confiado en la información emitida en los espacios radiales y televisivos ni en la información brindada por el gobierno, toda vez que nunca (33 %) y algunas veces (55 %) les pareció confiable y adecuada. Asimismo, el automedicarse siempre (37 %) y algunas veces (56 %) también constituyó un comportamiento de riesgo al igual que no considerar en llevar algún tratamiento guiado a pesar de haber sentido algún síntoma (65 %), finalmente; el 39 % tienen dudas de la efectividad de la vacuna y el 41 % en algún momento sí consideró vacunarse. Conclusiones :La mayoría de pacientes con sospecha de COVID-19 que acudieron al Hospital Regional Policial de Chiclayo durante el 2021 tuvieron un comportamiento inadecuado, influenciado por el sexo masculino, el nivel educativo superior y el proceder de la Región Lambayeque.

Methods and materials: Astudy was designed with a quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional and descriptive approach applied to a sample of 175 patients insured in this hospital; the same ones that were selected through non-probabilistic sampling for convenience. Aquestionnaire was applied with 18 items sized in 4 factors (Biosafety measures, Access to information, Self-medication and Attitude towards treatment and vaccine) validated by four experts and with a high reliability index (α = 0.85). Results: The risk behaviors occurred because, sometimes (72%) and always (11%) they held their faces constantly and unconsciously; never (26%) and sometimes (58%) have trusted the information broadcast in radio and television spaces or the information provided by the government, every time (33%) and sometimes (55%) they it seemed reliable and adequate. Likewise, self-medicating always (37%) and sometimes (56%) also constituted a risk behavior as well as not considering taking any guided treatment despite having felt some symptoms (65%), finally; 39% have doubts about the effectiveness of the vaccine and 41% at some point if they consider getting vaccinated. Conclusions: Most of the patients with suspected of Covid-19 who went to the Chiclayo Regional Police Hospital, had an inappropriate behavior, influenced by the male, sex, higher education level and the behavior of the Lambayeque region.
