• Resumen

  • The sporadic occurence is given of forms from the Globorotalia crassula crassaformis s. 1. group, associated with Globorotalia hirsuta in Western Mediterranean cores. The presence in a deep plankton tow of a living specimen belonging to the same group on the one hand, the comparison of such forms to the Atlantic ones on the other hand, lead us to consider the meaning of this occurrence in the paleogeograpic history of the Mesogean.

    Differing conceptions of these species are examined.
