The Paleocene-early Eocene part of the Campo section (central part of the Spanish Pyrenees) contains assemblages of organic microplankton which permit the recognition of five successive dinoflagellate zones. The stratigraphic value of these zones is discussed, as indicated by their relationship to zonations based on other groups of microfossils present in the Campo section and by data available from literature.
All species of dinoflagellates present are described and illustrated. Six new species are introduced.
