Nueva Zelanda
The surface microstructure of seven species of the foraminiferal genus Notorotalia Finlay, from Pliocene and Pleistocene sediments of western New Zealand, is described from scanning electron micrographs. Addition of calcite to the test is progressive and is controlled largely by the positions of sutural and apertural pores, which are present on all species. Borings in Notorotalia are illustrated and described.
