The aim of the study was to analyze the implementation process of the school group in the city of Novo Hamburgo, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Using documents accessed in collections of different archives, it sought to understand the early days of the institution's functioning between the 1930s and 1940s. The investigation is guided by the assumptions of Cultural History, using documentary analytical procedures: written, oral and ichnographic. The institutionalization of primary education, through graduate education, implied understanding the impacts of the implementation of this type of institution, knowledge and practices that, contextualized, make it possible to infer about the permanence and (dis)continuities in a region of Germanic colonization.
O objetivo do estudo foi analisar o processo de implantação do grupo escolar no município de Novo Hamburgo, Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil. Valendo-se de documentos acessados em acervos de diferentes arquivos buscou compreender os primeiros tempos de funcionamento da instituição entre as décadas de 1930 e 1940. A investigação orienta-se pelos pressupostos da História Cultural vale-se dos procedimentos analíticos documentais: escritos, orais e icnográficos. A institucionalização do ensino primário, por meio do ensino graduado, implicou compreender os impactos da implantação deste tipo de instituição, saberes e práticas que, contextualizadas, possibilitam inferir sobre as permanências e (des)continuidades em uma região de colonização germânica.
