ABSTRACT: This article is based on the research of Brazorotto (2014) who investigated the implementation of integrated high school (EMI) implemented in the Federal Institute of São Paulo (IFSP) through a Cooperation Agreement signed between the IFSP and the State Secretariat of Education of São Paulo (SEE-SP) in 2011. The results of this research pointed out the distance from the effective integration between regular high school and technical vocational training, indicating the permanence of the existing dualism in Brazilian education, which separates the propaedeutic and vocational education. Additionally, and based on these results, the article reflects on the institutional initiatives that followed the end of the partnership in 2015 in support of the construction of Pedagogical Projects of Courses (PPC) by teachers and technical-administrative staff on IFSP campuses. The hypothesis that guided this analysis is that the process of institutional reorganization for the elaboration of PPCs of EMI by the IFSP itself could offer better conditions to build EMI courses based on integral human formation, in order to overcome the vocational education focused exclusively on meeting the immediate demand of the labor market.
