    La presente contribución busca explorar el debate historiográfico que subya-ce a la ruptura epistemológica y relacional entre Henri de Lubac y Michel de Certeau. Ambos autores están entrelazados por un intenso vínculo de maestro-discípulo, siendo la historia de la mística y del cristianismo elementos que mar-can a su vez la continuidad y la ruptura de ambos proyectos intelectuales. La divergencia en la comprensión del método histórico es un claro síntoma del pasaje de una historia apologética a una historia cultural del cristianismo, señalando dos maneras de confrontarse al objeto histórico, que tendrán consecuencias epistemológicas y resultados diferentes en la producción histórica.

    This contribution seeks to explore the historiographical debate as one of the ele-ments underlying the epistemological and relational rupture between Henri de Lubac and Michel de Certeau. An intense master-disciple bond, the history of mysticism and Christianity being elements that mark in turn the continuity and rupture of both intellectual projects, intertwines the two authors. Their divergence in the understanding of the historical method is a clear symptom of the passage from an apologetic history to a cultural history of Christianity, indicating two ways of confronting the historical object, which will have epistemological conse-quences and different results in historical production.
